The Organization
The three bodies General Assembly, Council and Board form the organization of Distripress. At the General Assembly all regular members are represented with one vote. It usually convenes every three years and elects the Council.
The Council consists of 24 members (11 distributors, 11 publishers, 2 ancillary services) and 11 deputy members. It is responsible for financial and organizational questions, internal as well as external. It meets twice a year and elects President, Vice-President and Board and, among other tasks, approves the accounts.
The Board consists of 8 members (4 distributors, 4 publishers) and is led by President and Vice-President. Its term of office is three years. Re-election is possible three times. President and Vice-President alternate between publishers and distributors after each term.
Further there are several working groups dealing with topics such as congress, taxation, technology, logistics and more. A membership committee discusses membership applications.
